A number of people commented that Ross was not in any of the photos. He was due to fly from Wellington to Auckland on Wednesday 2nd January and those of you who live in Wellington know that that day was the day of the almighty winds and nothing was leaving Wellington airport that day.
I got a text from him at 2am in the Kruger Park telling me all of this and that's when my day started. Not much you can do in the bush with no access to a land line, a reasonable cell phone connection or Internet.
To cut a very long story short, the soonest he could come to SA was 13 th January ( we were leaving on 17th). The marvellous Mark at Johnsonville Flight Centre, waved his magic wand and got Ross on to a flight leaving NZ on 7th January
He landed at 5.05pm Tuesday 8th January SA time and was on a flight to Cape Town early the next day to join his brother and cousins there. After all, he did get some time with us
It was an incredibly stressful time to put it mildly ..... But then I'm used to stress, aren't I? :D
